We spent two years inside sustainability reporting.
The problem isn't data. It's that every piece of data is in a different system, and the report still gets assembled in a spreadsheet at 2am the night before the auditor arrives. We built Emitpulse to fix that specific problem.
Built by people who've filed disclosures
Nathan Brooks spent three years as a sustainability analyst for a mid-size industrial manufacturer navigating its first CSRD preparation cycle. The company had all the underlying data: utility invoices in NetSuite, freight receipts in a logistics portal, supplier spend by category in SAP. What it didn't have was any system that connected those sources into a coherent emissions calculation under GHG Protocol. The first disclosure draft took four months and three consultants. The methodology appendix was written in a shared Google Doc the night before the assurance provider arrived.
Maya Chen ran product at two SaaS companies before joining Nathan as Co-Founder. She'd watched finance teams solve document-assembly problems repeatedly across procurement and reporting workflows, always with the same ad-hoc spreadsheet approach. When Nathan described the carbon accounting problem, she recognized the pattern: a data integration problem being solved with manual labor, because no one had built the right underlying data structure for the audit requirement.
They founded Emitpulse in San Diego in 2025. The decision to bootstrap was deliberate. Building a credible auditable data product for enterprise compliance customers requires getting the data architecture right before scaling. They wanted to solve the problem first, not raise money to prove it was worth solving.
"Auditors don't care how hard your process was. They care whether you can trace the number back to a source document. We built Emitpulse so that answer is always yes."

Three things we don't compromise on
Precision first
Every tonne in Emitpulse is traceable to a source document, a factor version, and a calculation. We don't approximate when the data exists to be precise. We don't round when the auditor will ask for the unrounded figure. Precision is the product, not a feature.
Practitioner-built
We built Emitpulse because we've filed disclosures, not because we read about them. The data structures, the factor matching logic, the audit trail format: all of these reflect the actual questions an assurance provider asks during a limited assurance engagement. That's not something you learn from a framework document.
Auditor-ready by default
Compliance is not a feature you bolt on at the end of a reporting cycle. The Emitpulse ledger is structured for audit from the first entry. Version locking, immutable audit logs, and source-document references are part of the core data model. You don't need to prepare for an audit. You already are.
Emitpulse computes your carbon ledger and drafts the disclosure report. We are not a full sustainability management suite and we don't replace your ERP or financial systems. The disclosure filing decision is yours, and auditor sign-off requires a qualified third-party assurance provider. What we do is make sure the data they ask about has a traceable answer.
